INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

Effective inventory management is closely connected with the ability to quickly replenish resources and identify products that are overstocked. The possibility of classifying products by any type of characteristic (e.g. expiration date, color or size) allows products to be controlled more accurately. Based on these characteristics, products can be easily identified and the monitoring of inventory levels and locations can be accomplished with greater accuracy. Comarch ALTUM controls inventory levels including transfers, reservations, in transit and out of stock situations. The workflow mechanism allows easily defining business processes to ensure inventory is restocked and optimized. The business intelligence module allows planning based on estimated sales and rotation indicators.

MULTIPLE WAREHOUSES

For wholesale, distribution or retail companies doing business from multiple locations, e.g. chain stores, the most important function is effective coordination between warehouses. Comarch ALTUM supports multiple warehouses, stock transfers between warehouses and monitoring inventory levels over multiple warehouses.

COST REDUCTION

Reducing inventory storage costs is the basis for optimizing inventory levels. This is one of the major advantages directly resulting from implementing Comarch ALTUM. Of equal importance, especially in companies that sell fast moving consumer goods, is the automation of sales, purchasing and warehouse documentation. Thanks to the possibility of modeling the optimal document flow in Comarch ALTUM, logistics processes are well organized and costly mistakes are eliminated.

LOGISTICS ANALYSIS

Optimizing logistics processes in a company requires making decisions based on well supported and reliable information. The capability of monitoring complete logistic transactions from sales orders, warehouse receipts, warehouse releases, invoicing, and collections helps to easily identify bottlenecks in logistic systems, and at the same time reduce costs and improve customer service.

DISTINGUISH BETWEEN ARTICLES WITH THE SAME CODE AND NAME

Comarch ALTUM renders the nearly impossible, possible by having dozens of variations of hundreds and thousands of products and still not losing the big picture. Use product features to describe every article you have in your warehouse. Once you have defined which features, such as color, size, model and delivery date to use to describe an article in more detail, you can easily distinguish different variations of this article from the moment you order it until the moment it leaves your warehouse.

When using features, you split up the stock into lots that are distinguished everywhere in the system. You can chose from these lots whenever you create a document in the system. Therefore, you can keep your article-list as small as possible. This makes it much easier and faster to find a specific article at the moment you need it - when a customer calls and everything must be done quickly. In addition, you can see if you still have items that have been delivered long ago in your warehouse and decide what to do with them.

HANDLE YOUR PRODUCTS WITH THE HELP OF BARCODES

In Comarch ALTUM you can identify articles with the help of barcodes; by barcodes we mean not only one barcode per article, but different barcodes for the same article. As you surely don't want to waste time replacing old barcodes, simply because you have a new supplier that uses other barcodes for the same article. Of course you can also use the different barcodes of different suppliers everywhere in your company simultaneously.

Barcodes can help you manage different units of items. All you have to do is add separate barcodes to units such as pieces, boxes or crates and then you can quickly sell hundreds of pieces simply by scanning a single code.

SEPARATING WAREHOUSE STOCK FROM COMMERCIAL STOCK

You surely know this scenario: A delivery is arriving in the middle of the night and the only person at work is a warehouse employee, who simply receives the goods and books them into the warehouse without knowing their value. Or you receive a delivery but do not yet have an invoice for it. Both cases lead to the same result: You have articles in your warehouse that can't be sold yet, since you don't know what price you actually bought them for.

Comarch ALTUM offers a solution for that: The system separates the warehouse stock from the commercial stock, which means that you can assign items to your warehouse, but your salespeople can only sell them after you have added a price. This prevents customer dissatisfaction and possible losses for your company.
