The strategic Business Score Card supports modern methodology which assumes the strategy presentation to consist of measurable goals necessary for the company to realize its aim. BUDGETING

Setting up the right budget for the subsequent periods of activity is a serious challenge more often than not. Comarch ALTUM is equipped with the budgeting function which supports planning of the company's undertakings from the level of the system, which allows for strategy concretization. The budget is the real foundation of efficient planning as it enables a definite determination of the company's income and expenses.

Budgets may be set up in a number of variants, e.g. basic budget or optimistic budget, and it is then possible to trace its performance stage by stage. Budget assumptions can be based upon historical data which ensures the planned budget reflects reality to a much greater degree. Furthermore, it is easy to trace the performance within the period when the budget is binding and to compare the plan with its actual performance.

As the budget template is made, it is possible to use those already available within the system or to set up one's own budget from scratch. When preparing the template, measures (including calculated measures) and dimensions coming from the analysis cubes are available in the Business Intelligence module (these are for instance the income, the margin, the number of customers, etc.). The result is that when preparing the budget, the company uses the very same data which is available in the Book of Reports and thereby can base their budget on historical data.The elaborated access rights with regards to the budgeting data make it possible only for fully authorized persons to confirm and edit the particular values.

The presence of Comarch ALTUM Business Intelligence tools allows for the creating of reports without any specialized knowledge. Furthermore, they can be prepared within a few seconds.

Business Intelligence is a tool which has been created to support decision-making processes. The architecture of the tool is based on the MS SQL Server Data Warehouse which collects data from the company database and enables its analysis in various configurations and intersections. The data is organized into analysis cubes which allow for the most efficient storing system (calculation efficiency) as well as quick and easy access.

Thus the user can look up the current and historical data quickly and make brisker but also more efficient and well-informed decisions.

The reports can be accessed from the level of the Comarch ALTUM system (the Book of Reports bookmark). The data included in the reports may be presented in the form of tables, charts, indexes and maps. In addition, the report can be easily converted into an Excel document. Analysis can be carried out in many dimensions. For instance, when analyzing one report, you can simultaneously process data related to the sales with the contracting parties assigned to particular regions and view the sales ratio in time. This is but one example of how the measures and dimensions can be configured to create completely new reports. The activity itself, that is preparing a report, is extremely simple and it takes only a few moments. The use of pivot tables makes it possible to enter the particular measurements and dimensions onto the table and the report along with its chart representation is then ready.

WORKFLOW

Workflow consists of three elements:

• Employee Mailbox
• Processes Editor
• Applications Server where processes are applied

Employee Mailbox is activated from the level of Comarch ALTUM system and it resembles a mail program in the way it functions. Each worker who has his or her own account within the system can set up the personal employee mailbox. The mailbox is a store for messages generated by Workflow and the tasks assigned for the given worker to carry out. The process of browsing and managing the messages and tasks is very similar to standard mailbox procedures.

Workflow allows for easy modeling of any process, such as automatic restocking in the case of shortages. When a given article is no longer in stock, a message is automatically generated and sent to the appropriate employees who may order purchase of the article by using the employee mailbox by means of just one click. After the decision has been made, the process is carried out automatically without the need to generate any documents or perform operations in the system manually. This is not the only process which can be operated by means of Workflow. All processes can be easily edited with the help of the graphics editor.

When receiving the system, the user will also be given a number of predefined processes that can come in useful when running the business.

MULTICURRENCY AND MULTILINGUALITY

Comarch ALTUM is designed to fulfill the needs and demands of companies doing business on international markets. The system supports the input and translation of cross currency transactions. Both the Comarch ALTUM interface and supporting dictionaries (i.e. products and their attributes) are accessible in many languages.

CONTROL
